So, the concept behind our meeting Will was that while JP had met just about all of my friend, I had met none of his. So potentially, he could be a hallucination of some kind; a shared delusion.
However, not only does Will exist (hence confirming the existence of JP), he's sharp as a tack. "You wanted sake?" he asked, "There's a great sake place right by here!" So after dinner, we were joined by my favorite fluffy faced friend and walked around the corner on 2nd avenue. "This is it!" Will said, almost immediately. Jessi and I immediately recoiled, making the same sound of disgust - this place looked like post-mod metropolitan hell; you descended into the bowels of the sidewalk and found yourself in a very low, very dark bar with a rope between the front foyer and the proper bar. AND you have to spend $8 per person.
But once we got in, it was gravy. The place was so authentic, it made me want to pick up a copy of Japanese for dummies, and while I've only dabbled with sake before, I can say with certainty that it does not fuck around. Oh - and lychees are delicious. Who knew?
